Recognize and Celebrate Culture in the Classroom with Naomi O’Brien

“We realized that in order to get our students, especially at these younger ages, to care about the cultures of others, and respect them, they needed to know about their own culture.”

Naomi O'Brien
Founder, Read Like a Rock Star Teaching

Ask any student and they will tell you that they love to be celebrated. Often we celebrate them for their academic success, their behavior, their attendance, etc. However, in this week’s episode, we're going to be discussing how to recognize and celebrate their culture. Let’s find out how this can be possible with our incredible guest, Naomi O'Brien, an educator, content creator, and author with over 10 years of experience in the classroom.

Her passion for culturally responsive teaching, accurate primary social studies lessons, rigorous reading instruction, and social justice-oriented education has been a driving force behind the message she hopes to instill in other educators and children.
