"Matthew's presentation on Heartleader at the Teach Better conference in October 2022, which I had previously discussed with him on my podcast Out of the Trenches, showcased his passion for trauma-informed leadership and the significance of building relationships with students. Heartleading is crucial for fostering a positive school climate and culture, as it naturally aligns processes within the school."

"Matthew Bowerman is a prime example of what it means to lead with your heart. He exemplifies this with the students and faculty that he leads. His strategies are structured in a way that allow you to implement quickly. And he leaves his heart on the table when telling important stories that all educators can relate to."

“Matthew Bowerman brings a genuine heart to everything he does in education. Working with and leading both students and adults who’ve experienced trauma requires compassion, openness, and a willingness to see past someone’s outermost layers. Matthew does this in his presentations, his book, and in his life. Honored to call Matthew Bowerman a friend and a colleague in education.”
